I like my drama in my books, not in my life... but sometimes life gives you material anyway.

I'm Cornelia Smith, a national bestselling author, full-time librarian. I wrote my way out of poverty. What started as a creative escape turned into a career writing stories filled with messy love, real emotions, and characters readers can't stop talking about. I write both fiction and children's books, and I've been blessed to find success in both. 

When I'm not writing, I'm usually doing something quiet like coloring-- which is why I also create adult and children's coloring books. I'm an introvert at heart, but my very extroverted friends and family make sure I still show up when they call.

At the end of the day, I live by one simple belief: I'm the writer of my own story. I dictate when, where, and how... with permission from God, of course.
