"Success is no accident. Its hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing." -Pele
I woke up and realized all this happened within a year. Back in 2012, I was stretched out on the sofa watching Oprah interviews when I came across her winning one of her first awards for her talk show. During her speech, she shared her prayer, "God use me, use this life, I don’t know what the future holds for me but I know there is a vision for my life that is greater than my imagination can hold."
It was that prayer that helped me walk away from a very selfish publisher. My passion had quickly turned into a job, only I wasn’t getting paid. Short on hope, I set back & watched my fellow authors (Miasha, Ashley & Jaquavis, Wahilda Clark, Omar Tyree) grind with purpose and lead by example. The fire in me still burnt but my faith was slowly melting away. I had two choices; walk away or fight the good fight. After long nights of tossing and turning I finally decided the only way I could lose is if I didn’t fight. After court appearances and a lot of back forth I was granted my rights back to my first book "Sleeping in Sin The Lesson." Having my rights felt like the biggest victory until I was force to think about my next move.
It took many prayers and long night conversations with my Author friend Mandi Mac before I actually allowed my faith and belief in God power my dreams. As an Entrepreneur my faith is tested every single day but my belief is, God hasn’t brought me this far to leave me stranded and he continues to open my eyes and my life to possibilities I could not have imagined. I am honored to bless my beautiful Butterflies with page-turning, entertaining stories. Your honest reviews fuel my purpose and drive me to create more meaningful content.
